Some eTuxedo formalwear history…we started in 1996 with a Bill Blass pure wool tuxedo which we sold for $169.99. Over these passing years the company which produces the Bill Blass tuxedo traded the Bill Blass license for Haspel. Same firm, same tuxedo, same price, different name. There are a few differences; the Haspel tuxedo includes a fabric upgrade. We were able to move from a plain weave fabric (just like the rental tuxedos) to a softer, tighter, nicer, pure wool gabardine fabric. The rest of our original writeup still rings true today:
Arguably the finest dollar for dollar value you will find
anywhere for a quality tuxedo. This Haspel 100% pure wool
tuxedo is designed for a single owner, not rental use. Why
does this matter? Rental tuxedos are designed to take the abuse
of prom season, wedding season, charity season, and all the
dry cleanings in between. They are constructed with the formalwear
version of heavy armor to look good for the next rental. This
armor makes the garment stiffer, heavier, and less comfortable.
If you don't need to dry-clean your tuxedo 52 times a year
you will feel much better in a "retail" (rather than rental)
tuxedo. This tuxedo will easily fill the needs of an average
user. Unless you want a more luxurious garment or are accustomed
to a higher-end suit, this tuxedo will probably take care of
your needs.
This is a classic 2-button, notch lapel, side-vent tuxedo with flat front slacks.
The coat is fully lined and has two breast pockets and one
lower "phone" pocket. The slacks are lined to the knee for
comfort. Pant has a 2 inch letout in the back for a tailor to make easy adjustments. This tuxedo comes with a set size pant. For the

Box included the suit coat and pants. I picked up
the vest, tie, and shoes locally. Ordered this
tuxedo just a few days before I was to stand up in a
wedding. It came very quickly and was ready to wear
out of the box once we hemmed up the pants. Many
complements. Highly recommended! |

| A rep called me the day after I ordered this package stating they did not have my size 41R in this Tuxedo but had a subsitute of similar quality made by Chaps. I was hesitant to purchase a tux I could not see pictures of but moved forward eventually. The Chaps tux is VERY nice. Very satisfied with the purchase. Quite a deal for the tux and all the accesories! Highly recommend this company!!! |
