Sizing Guidelines

2-button shawl collar with satin tipping is a sharp option for “something different”. Imagine yourself in 1896 – tired of the stifling sameness of white tie and tails – you decide it’s time for “something different” and have your tailor design what is now called a tuxedo (yes, this story should sound familiar, it is the genesis of tuxedos). Your high fashion design sent shock waves throughout the social circuit for being unique, brash, and challenging the norms. Yet, today, this fashion garment is considered a timeless classic. Will the same thing happen with this LaStrada? Who knows. But we can confidently tell you this tuxedo is sharp and will help you stand out from the crowd. Tropical weight 100% pure wool, 2-button, no vent styling with a narrow band of satin on the edge of the lapel – not too radical – just a little kick to be unique. Your choice of flat front or pleated slacks. Sold as separates so you choose any size jacket and any size pant. |
Tailoring Notes – This is a factory-fresh, never worn, rental quality tuxedo. Designed to be purchased by rental stores, musicians, entertainers. Rental quality tuxedos are hard-wearing, abuse-taking, pure wool formalwear that are designed to look like new even after 50 dry-cleaning cycles. The slacks have a side tab adjustment allowing the pant to be brought in or eased out over a 3-inch range. The pant also has a standard 2 inch let-out in the back to allow a tailor to ease the pant out further. There is a tradeoff with rental quality tuxedos. Rental formalwear has an internal “armor” which allows the tuxedo to stand up to daily use and abuse. This armor makes the tuxedo stiffer and heavier than its “retail” counterpart like our Haspel tuxedo. Lastly, rental quality tuxedos do not have buttons on the sleeve which makes it much easier for rental shops to alter the sleeves without having to remove and re-sew all of the buttons.

Unbelievable price with incredible customer service, Nov 04, 2011

I must say both the price of this elegant Jean Y
tuxedo and the short period it took to be shipped to
me exceeded my expectations. The tux is a great
mordern cut that fits me. With an athletic fit
sometimes I find it hard finding suits that fit me
this well. I highly recommend both the product and
this site. |

| I purchased this coat for a character in a live stage show that I was designing and was not disappointed. It looks as good as it does in the photo and the fabric is of very high quality. It is a slim fit with impeccable details. I would certainly not hesitate to purchase again. |

| was delivered fairly quickly. Nice quality for being so inexpensive. Only complaint was, the pants don't have suspender buttons, I had to get those tailored in. |

Great value!!!, Mar 09, 2006

| This tailcoat is a quality tuxedo at a great price! Very elegant and classic. Absolutely perfect for any white tie occasion. The only drawback is that genuine white tie involves a pique shirt, pique vest, and pique bow tie...and those are a bit hard to find and are usually expensive. Otherwise, this is a wonderful tailcoat!!! |
